‘Jesus was passing through’

This statement lets us know that Jesus wouldn’t be staying in a particular area for a certain amount of time. Once he has achieved the reason why he was in a certain area, he would keep moving. There were two people in the bible who both had long standing illnesses. One had a blood issue, one was blind but it’s clear they both wanted healing.

The woman with the issue of blood, she was someone who couldn’t leave her house due to her illness. There came a time where Jesus was in the area, the woman with the issue of blood came to get her healing. She touched the hem of his garment, on feeling that Jesus asked who had touched him but everyone tried to tell him that it was because there was people around him. No, Jesus insisted power had left him so he demanded the person be brought to him. So, the woman with the issue of blood, came before Jesus and immediately Jesus told her that due to her faith she had been healed (Luke 8:43-48)

(Mark 10:46-52) – There was a man named Bartimaeus was blind. He been like that for a while, he sat on the roadside waiting for a miracle to happen. How many times have we done that? Sat down and waited for someone to come along. So, Jesus and his disciples were passing through Jericho, Bartimaeus heard that Jesus was in town so he shouted out ‘Jesus, son of David, have mercy on me now!’

The people told him to be quiet but he cried out even louder and again he repeated ‘Jesus, son of David, have mercy and pity on me now!’ The word ‘now’ tells us that Bartimaeus wanted his healing right at that moment. Jesus then stopped after hearing that cry and asked for him to come forward. Bartimaeus asked Jesus for healing so he can receive his sight back again, he was healed due to his faith. Let it be known that Bartimaeus had to fight, so did the woman with the issue of blood, they both had a physical fight and a mental fight.

Ask yourself – How bad do you want your healing? Are you prepared to fight for it? It’s Now or Never……………
