When the chips are down, when the picture looks bleak and it looks like there will be no way out. It’s at that time you must make yourself known and take command. Take charge of the situation and turn it around.Picture a football match, the team is losing. Whilst the rest of the players are distraught, the captain is raising his voice and encouraging the team to keep their heads up. The captain is essentially taking the game by the scruff of the neck.
There are times in your life that you are going to have to face facts, acknowledge what is going around you and command it to stop.
Mark 4:39 – Then Jesus got up and rebuked the wind and the sea. “Silence! He commanded. “Be still!” And the wind died down, and it was perfectly calm.
Notice that Jesus didn’t negotiate with the wind nor did he hope it would that it would die down. Jesus commanded the winds to be still and the winds died down. Jesus took charge of the situation. In that situation, Jesus was very calm and relaxed that he even had a sleep. This is the attitude we need to have – the ability to remain calm and relaxed despite the different storms in our life.
The context Jesus stepped into was one of confusion, instability, the boat was rocking side to side, fear and doubt. All of this can signal our minds when we go through situations in our life. All of this comes as a result of us not being awake and acknowledging what’s happening. Only once have we done this can we take charge of it.
We also need to learn how to command and take charge of situations. We have already been given the power and authority so it’s about time we start commanding and declaring matters.
Be blessed. I pray that God gives you the boldness and confidence to take charge of your situation in Jesus name.
